Windy Peak Outdoor Education Lab Project

Overview of Scope of Work for 2007-2008 Nelson Pond Reclamation Project at the Windy Peak Outdoor Educational Lab School, a Jefferson County Public Schools Facility.

While SRC Enterprises had it's excavating equipment on site, Bosco Constructors, general contractor for the project, asked SRC to take on the pond reclamation work as an addendum to the sewer and water system improvement work SRC performed at Windy Peak Outdoor Lab. As detailed below SRC removed the accumulated silt which had reduced the recreational utility of the pond.

Scope of Nelson Pond Spillway & Dam Improvements

  •  Provide construction of equipment access road off of County Rd. 68 to south side of Nelson Pond.

  •  Provide mass excavation of pond removing accumulated silt deposits and export material to onsite location specified by owner.

  •  Provide removal of section of clay material currently in dam, re-locate and replace with 45 Mil PVC pond liner.

  •  Furnish and install 10,330 SF of 45 Mil PVC liner in pond as per plans.

  •  Furnish and install mechanical attachments and anchor liner to outlet structure.

  •  Provide trenching for 160 LF and furnish and install # 67 3/4" gravel and six-inch schedule 35 PVC perforated pipe.

  •  SRC furnished up to 750 tons of 3/4" gravel

  •  Provide excavation and construction of two clay ground water barriers as per plans.

  •  Provide removal of existing rip-rap on pond bank and provide replacement of same material.

  •  Provide trenching for 197 LF including furnishing and installing six-inch SDR 35 solid pipe with necessary bends

  •  Furnish and install check flap valve at end of 197 LF line.
